Across the world and even in the African continent, several countries have passed legislation with either Affirmative action or quota system as a specific measure to address the gender disparity in the political space. Similar legislations have been presented to the National Assembly and Nigerian women want our legislators to pass the bills for us!!!

Dear Hon./Senator, Nigerian women have played a vital role in fulfilling your political ambitions and sadly, the current reality is that Nigerian women only have 4% of representation in the National Assembly out of a total of 469 seats and 5% of representation in the state houses of assembly out of 993 seats across the 36 states of Nigeria. To address this, Nigerian women have presented the Special Seats Bill. it is our united request that the bills be passed by the 10th National Assembly. Yours Sincerely,
